Ida* dreamt of becoming a pediatric nurse.
She felt happy when she could help the younger kids in her sub-Saharan village feel better and happier. Unfortunately, Ida got diagnosed with surgically curable liver cancer when she was eleven. Curable, except for those who could not afford surgery, such as Ida and her family.
After seven long years of agony, Ida died one week before her eighteenth birthday. Not only Ida lost her life and her family lost their precious daughter/granddaughter/sister/cousin…, we all lost a beautiful person who would have brought love and healing to the children who deserved Ida’s tender loving care, had she have help getting surgery.
The International Childhood Cancer Charity (ICCC) is here to help children like Ida. We provide resources, funding, education, and coaching programs for the child and his/her parents to help them win over cancer and THRIVE with ease and joy.
